Winds of Change: Stories by Survivors

Winds of Change: A collection of stories by survivors after brain injury that illuminate the power of the human spirit to overcome adversity – is an anthology written by 31 survivors who have sustained an acquired brain injury (ABI).

All of the stories focus on how the survivors have fought and struggled to rebuild their lives post injury... and these stores provide a snapshot of their inspirational journeys. This book is unique in that it is believed to be the first collection of stories of its kind in Canada.

Our book project has been enthusiastically endorsed by a number of highly regarded medical professionals whose plaudits cover three pages of the collection.

Each story is inspiring and uplifting and one has but to read any single chapter to enormously appreciate how each has embraced their challenge after suffering such a devastating experience. The stories serve as a testament to the survivors determination and perserverance in their personal journey to rebuild their lives post injury. These stories truly are reflections of a hero's journey.

Proceeds from the sale of Winds of Change are directed in support of BIANs programs and services for individuals with brain injury and their families.

Thanks to the Ontario Trillium Foundation

The production of Winds of Change, a 288 page trade paperback, was made possible thanks to a generous grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation, an agency of the Government of Ontario and one of Canada's leading grant making foundations.
